Software, Plugins and Packs we use - Our minimum setup
We get this kind of question from time to time:
QUESTION
T: Minimum setup for starting professional production
I'm a 17 years old producer. I want to start producing like you guys.
I'm planning to buy the most important things about producing (Deep House/ Melodic House). What kind of software (DAW) and plugins do you guys use? What do you recommend I should buy?
I want to buy the Ableton 9 Suite, NI Massive (with your presents too) and some packages to be able to follow along with the beats you make in your tutorials.
Are these things the best for start in the professional "charts" producing ?
ANSWER
There are many good DAWs out there. Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, ProTools, etc. But we personally love Ableton Live 9 Suite, so this is our pick. We have a couple of software VST plugins and even hardware we use together with it. But since not everybody is able to afford all those plugins right away, we try to keep complexity low and produce as much stuff on our channel only using Ableton Live 9 and Native Instruments Massive VST synthesizer. This is what we are regarding as minimum setup for our followers and also for anybody who wants to kick-off his production activities.
PML Minimum Setup:
1. Ableton Live 9 Suite
Visit at amazon.com: Ableton Live 9 Suite with Sound Library
2. Native Instruments Massive
You can grab Massive solo through Native Instruments or as part of the NI Komplete package together with a huge library of great sounds and other plugins: Native Instrument Komplete 10
Optional addition (we use):
Awesome hardware controller to use alongside Ableton:
Ableton Push

Also, the computer we use:
- MacBook Pro Retina 15"
